"Falcon is a pure line engraving which started with a variety of burin lines of different strength which drew themselves almost automatically into the copper plate. When I looked it over, I discovered something like a falcon head which needed only a slight addition around the eyes. Needless to point out that this is not a zoological description of a falcon head but does express somehow the general feeling of exploring techniques that I had at the time while experimenting at Atelier 17."
